Mark the Moment: The Promise Awards returned for its 4th Annual celebration, bringing together community leaders, dedicated volunteers, generous supporters, local organizations, and friends of Family Promise of Hudson County for a memorable evening honoring those making a difference throughout our community. The celebration took place on August 12, 2026, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Grace Van Vorst Church in Jersey City (39 Erie Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302).
This year, we were proud to honor Mayor James Solomon, Assemblyman Jerry Walker, HEDC Director Annisia Cialone, Councilman Jake Ephros, Kismet of Kings Founder, Adrian Ghainda of House of Hearts Network, Case Manager Claudia Pastrana Aguirre of Garden State Community Development Corporation, and Founding Board Member Debra Pelto. Each honoree was recognized for their leadership, service, and commitment to strengthening our Hudson County community.
Guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres, drinks, exciting raffles featuring generously donated prizes from local businesses, and an evening centered around community, connection, and celebration.
Most importantly, the success of the evening was made possible by YOU. From our sponsors, donors, volunteers, Board members, community partners, and attendees, every contribution helped make our 4th Annual Mark the Moment a success. Because of your incredible generosity and support, we were able to raise over $9,000 to further our mission and continued work with families experiencing housing insecurity throughout Hudson County.
On behalf of the Family Promise of Hudson County Board of Trustees, staff, and most importantly, the families we serve, thank you for helping us Mark the Moment and demonstrating what is possible when our community comes together for a greater cause.

A Message about how Covid-19 has affected our services:
When the New Jersey State Shelter in Place Mandate occurred on March 13th, 2020, we were no longer able to use our previous model of congregational rotations. We needed to pivot and pivot quickly. We are happy to report that we successfully re-housed our families into static locations. Static locations are fixed sites for the families to stay, and volunteers to provide the hospitality from afar. The static site model also engages our congregational and community partners. Our families are doing well and are all safe.
However, this program model change came at significant expense–an expense that was sudden and unexpected. Many of you have asked how you can help the neediest and most vulnerable in our community during these scary and uncertain times. One easy way is to make a contribution to our shelter program, which you can do by donating through our website. Every dollar we raise helps provide shelter for homeless and housing-insecure families, so anything helps.
Thank you for your generosity.
